Brown Sugar–Baked Beans

Prep and Cook time: 1 3/4 - 2 1/4 hours
Makes: 12 to 16 servings
 

This sweet side dish is practically addictive.

Ingredients

12 slices Bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
4 cans (28 oz. each) pork and beans
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/3 cups catsup
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 medium onions, finely chopped

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, stir together bacon, beans, sugar, catsup, mustard, and onions. Spoon into a 3 to 4 quart bean pot or casserole.

2. Bake, uncovered, in a 350° oven until thickened and bubbly (1 1/2 to 2 hours), stirring several times to ensure even heating.
